Description

I started this app because I was experimenting with writing my own programming language and decided to switch to creating a BASIC parser to make my Commodore BASIC code available on my phone.

So far, both of my recent Commodore Games are fully playable and since it's still in development it also contains a few small test programs, which have no real gameplay.

Hint: Use the [BACK] Button on your phone to go back to the game selection screen.

Included Software

• Irrgarten: A maze game I have also published on itch.io: https://ziebieemm.itch.io/irrgarten
• Schlangenwurm: A small snake/tron like game.
• Hello, World!: Test program, that prints "Hello, World!" on the screen over and over. I mostly used it to test the screen scrolling.
• Petscii Chars: Test program, that prints out all the available Petscii Chars. I mostly used it to fix graphical errors.
• Draw Card Colors: Test program I used to test the keyboard input. 
• Saved Values: Test program to read out persisted values.

Future Plans

• More Games: Since my original idea was to get back into commodore basic programming, I'm planning to update the app with more games. Ideally, the app should be able to download new games automatically from the internet.
• Multiplayer: I'm toying with the idea to create some kind of game for two players to play via bluetooth. We'll see how that goes.

Development Info

• The App was written in Android Studio and Eclipse IDE using Kotlin and Java.
• The 3D "Retro Ready Smartphone" as seen in the thumbnail was created using MagicaVoxel.
• The title pictures for the "Irrgarten" and "Schlangenwurm" box-art where generated with starryai.
